The focus of this story can be incorrectly placed on the man who was healed. We are thankful for a man who was healed after thirty eight years, but the focus of this story must remain on the Healer Himself. No other gospel records the story of this healing, but John through divine inspiration from the Holy Spirit has penned it into this gospel which gives further evidence to the purpose of the entire gospel of John.
